Really useless statements

If you want to see what's wrong with Africa, take a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Wow. The first line is bad enough, but the article gets worse. If I may add on -

Really bad metaphors: "hurricane of rape"

Really blatant self-promotion: "300 political figures, business leaders and champions of civil society gather in Cape Town for a forum sponsored by TIME and our corporate cousins at Fortune"

Really confusing word choice: "Chinese contractors are building roads from Equatorial Guinea to Ethiopia" (unless they actually are building a 3000+ km road through 4 or 5 other countries?)

Its not a great article. But actually yes China, is just about building roads from E. Guinea to Ethiopia. The amount of construction work China is up to these days, from Malawi's Parliament, to Mozambique's main highways, to Algeria, to E. Guinea, Ethiopia, ad almost infinitum is ridiculously extensive.
